"Here Am I" was the final project for the acrylic painting class I took in 2022. Our task was to create a self-portrait, and I chose to paint this image of myself with part of my bookshelf in the background to showcase my interest in reading. I also modified the colors of this painting to highlight pastel colors including my favorite color, pink.

I chose the title in reference to a Bible verse in Isaiah 6, where Isaiah has a heavenly vision and says to God "Here am I. Send me!" in response to the call for a prophet to speak to the people on God's behalf. Each of us has unique skills and gifts that we can use to serve others. I feel that creativity is part of my calling, and I hope to use it in a way that honors God and inspires people.
